This plaid hat belonged to Tracey Conway, cast member on the Seattle television comedy show Almost Live! which aired from 1984 to 1999 on KING5 in Seattle. The hat was purchased at Nordstrom. Conway lent it to Nancy Guppy for the 1992 sketch “The Worst Girlfriend Joins the Band” where Guppy played a member of a grunge band. Conway wore the hat herself in the “Almost Live! Guide to Living in Seattle” special in 1994. Tracey Conway moved to Seattle after earning an MFA in Drama from the University of Southern California and struggling to find acting work in LA. While temping in Human Resources at KING5 she started getting enlisted as an extra in Almost Live! sketches, including the infamous 1989 April Fool’s Day report about the collapse of the Space Needle. She became an official cast member in 1990 and remained on the show through the finale in 1999.
