This device was created by Bill Nye (b. 1955) to demonstrate how air moves around a baseball. The device spins the ball, and when you light a match and hold it by the baseball it goes out. Nye did this demonstration for kids at baseball camps run by former Mariner’s player Dave “Hendu” Henderson (1958-2015).
