This jersey was made for Bill Nye (b. 1955) “The Science Guy” who worked with Dave “Hendu” Henderson (1958-2015) at various fantasy baseball camps connected with the Seattle Mariners. Nye is a baseball fan and would teach kids about the physics involved in the game. Henderson made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners in 1981. In 1986 he was traded to the Boston Red Sox, and is most remembered for a two-strike, two-out, two-run home run in the top of the ninth during Game 5 of the 1986 American League Championship. He later played for the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, and Kansas City Royals, and made four trips to the World Series. After his retirement in 1994 he returned to the Seattle area and ran baseball camps for kids and adults.
