The J.P. Patches Show aired on KIRO-TV in Seattle from 1958-1981 and broadcast over 10,000 episodes in its 23-year run. Sturdley the Bookworm was a reccurring character played by Jack Armstrong and Bob Newman. Sturdley had an appetite for paper and would eat any book placed on his bookshelf. This replica bookshelf was made in 2008, most likely for promotional J.P. Patches events and programs.
