Music writer and promoter Jeff Gilbert appeared in almost every rock-related sketch on the Seattle television comedy show Almost Live! The show aired from 1984 to 1999 on KING 5 in Seattle. Gilbert was connected to the show through host John Keister, who he had worked with at the music and entertainment newspaper The Rocket. “Rock Star Fantasy Camp” aired in October of 1994 and is about regular guys (played by Almost Live! cast members) being taught how to live and act like rock stars. Jeff Gilbert appears alongside Dave Grohl of Nirvana, Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam.
