Teal suede-like jacket from Marjone, 1970s
Order an ImageThis faux suede jacket is open on the sides and has twist lock fasteners down the front. It was made by the Marontate-Jones Company of Seattle. Founded by Fred Marontate and Frank Jones, the business was one of Seattle’s oldest and longest-running manufacturers of women’s dresses, outerwear, and separates. The company started in 1921 and continued into the 1980s. The garments were often labeled under the name “Marjone,” a shortened version of the company’s full name.
