Washington Mutual Savings Bank (later known as Washington Mutual or WaMu) was founded in Seattle in 1889 as the Washington National Building Loan and Investment Association. It grew to become the largest savings and loan association until its collapse in 2008. This coin bank was a gift from the executive team to the donor who was an employee at Washington Mutual.
