Stanley A. Hostek (1918-2014) was a prominent and influential tailor in Seattle. In addition to owning his own custom tailoring business, he taught tailoring at Edison Technical School (now Seattle Community College) and authored a series of instructional tailoring books in the 1970s. He made this vest for his wife Dorothy Hostek out of labels from various sources, but predominantly from high-end fabrics that he used in his business. He included his own label in several places, as well as labels from his father Frank’s tailoring business in Lewistown, Montana.
