IBM 5150 Personal Computer with monitor and keyboard, ca. 1981

The IBM Personal Computer model number 5150, the original version of the IBM PC compatible hardware platform, was introduced in 1981. One of the earliest desktop computers on the market, IBM helped standardize the PC for worldwide consumption. The donor of this IBM PC, who grew up in Shoreline, remembers drafting book reports and playing an early digital baseball game on a floppy disk on this computer in the 1980s.
