Local designer Sabika Makhdoom created this asymmetrical charmeuse blouse with layered chiffon hem and long cream skirt made of chiffon strips on linen. Makhdoom is Muslim and began designing because she wanted more options for clothing that was modest but also colorful and visually interesting. The coral color of this top is a cheerful contrast to the darker colors that she sees most Seattleites wearing. She likes the fun of experimenting while designing, and the placement of the chiffon strips on the skirt is the result of her playful process. Makhdoom created the website AlSundus.com to sell her line Sabika Seattle along with accessories like this lace scarf with rhinestones.
