Civil defense human waste receptacle from the Everett Boeing Plant, 1966

The Everett Boeing plant was built at the height of the Cold War era and the first of the two utility tunnels were designed to also serve as civil defense bomb shelters. The tunnel ceiling is a over a foot thick of reinforced concrete and every stairwell was stocked with these sanitation and survival kits.
