Nalley's was founded by Marcus Nalley in Tacoma in 1918. Starting with potato chips and eventually expanding to over 1,300 food products, Nalley's products are well known throughout the Pacific Northwest. This toy delivery car was the grand prize in a contest won by the donor when he was a child living in Woodinville. In 1958, Local television station KING-TV teamed up with entertainer Stan Boreson and Nalley's to "auction" off the mini car but the winning buyer had to provide the most empty Nalley's potato chip bags as currency. The donor and his fellow siblings purchased and ate thousands of potato chips in order to win the contest with 2,157 potato chip bags. Now he hates potato chips.
