The Seattle Bowl, previously the Oahu Bowl, was a college bowl game held for two years in this city. In 2001, Georgia Tech beat Stanford University at the previously named Safeco Field, and in 2002, Wake Forest beat the Oregon Ducks at Seahawks Stadium. The Seattle Bowl was discontinued the following year due to lack of funding. The artist for the trophy, Louise McDowell, is a local sculptor who was Director of Pratt Fine Arts, and her work can be found in Seattle, Kirkland and Snohomish.
