Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper rack dispenser, ca. 1990s

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer was one of Seattle's two long-standing print newspapers since 1863, until it switched to online only format in 2009. At that time the Seattle Times, which continued in its print form, was seen as "winning" the newspaper wars, although the P-I is still known as a more progressive news voice albeit in online-only format. Print newspapers continue to struggle for revenue in the online age of news consumption.
