Order an ImagePacific Fabrics & Crafts evolved from the original Pacific Iron & Metal company founded in Seattle in 1917 by Jules Glant. He started by recycling scrap metal and rags from the back of his horse-drawn wagon, and this eventually turned into a large recycling operation, and surplus and discarded fabrics were sold at the company’s warehouse on 4th Avenue South in downtown Seattle. In the 1950s, the company spun-off from Pacific Iron & Metal to become Pacific Iron’s Fabric World, which would eventually become Pacific Fabrics.
