Three condom packs from the Northwest AIDS Foundation, ca. 1992
The Northwest AIDS Foundation was formed in Seattle in 1983. From the beginning, the organization focused both on care for AIDS patients and on educational campaigns. In 1985 the organization received a grant from the U.S. Conference of Mayors to create a safe-sex educational campaign which included the “Rules of the Road” campaign to promote condom use. These condom and latex barrier packages were handed out by the organization in the 1990s. In 2001, Northwest AIDS Foundation merged with Chicken Soup Brigade to form Lifelong AIDS Alliance.
