Pair of hand painted "You're Turning Violet, Violet" heels, 2013
Rachel J. E. Sprauge, an artist at the all-women team of local business Hourglass, hand-painted these creatively titled pumps. In 2013, these pumps entitled "You're Turning Violet, Violet," won a MOHAI-sponsored contest in which several pairs of Hourglass painted shoes were exhibited and the public was asked to vote on the pair that would become part of MOHAI's permanent collection.
