Pearl Jam, "MerkinBall," 45 record, Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. 1995
Pearl Jam is an alternative rock band that formed in Seattle in 1990. Since its inception, the band's line-up has included Eddie Vedder (vocals), Stone Gossard (guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), and Mike McCready (guitar). Together with such bands as Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, and Nirvana, Pearl Jam was part of the grunge rock scene that was centered in Seattle in the early 1990s. In 1995, the band backed Neil Young on his album Mirror Ball. Contractual obligations prevented the use of the band's name anywhere on the album, but the members were all credited individually in the album's liner notes. " I Got Id" and "Long Road" are two songs from the sessions that were left off Mirror Ball. These two tracks were released separately by Pearl Jam in the form of the 1995 EP, Merkin Ball.
