Since its inception, the band's line-up has included Eddie Vedder (vocals), Stone Gossard (guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), and Mike McCready (guitar). Together with such bands as Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, and Nirvana, Pearl Jam was part of the grunge rock scene that was centered in Seattle in the early 1990s. The song "Spin the Black Circle" was an homage to vinyl records and won a Grammy Award in 1996 for Best Hard Rock Performance.
