Harvey Danger was an American indie rock band that is most known for their 1998 single "Flagpole Sitta." The band began in 1992 with University of Washington classmates Jeff Lin and Aaron Huffman who were both journalists on the staff of The Daily. The name "Harvey Danger" came from a phrase graffitied onto the wall of the newspaper's office. In 1993 Evan Sult and Sean Nelson were added to the lineup. “Where have all the merrymakers gone?” was released in July 1997 and performed well on college radio charts and had modest sales in Seattle and New York. By the end of the year it seemed the album’s momentum had run out and the group considered breaking up. But then Nelson gave a copy of Merrymakers to a DJ at KNDD radio station. Within weeks, "Flagpole Sitta" had become the station’s most-requested song.
