Japanese-themed souvenir tea set from the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) in Seattle, WA, 1909
This tea set was purchased at the Japanese Pavilion on the AYPE campus. Like other souvenirs of the fair, it did not reflect an authentic Japanese tea service but was instead created and marketed for Western stereotypes of Japan.
