Red and white ensemble, ca. 1960s-1980s
Order an ImageThis ensemble was designed by leading American fashion designer Pauline Trigère (1908-2002). It is from the estate of sisters Genevieve (1912 - 2008) and Donna Gorder (1921-2018). Genevieve was a teacher and Donna worked as a research technician in medical labs at both the Veteran’s Hospital on Beacon Hill and the University of Washington. They shared a home in Madison Park and enjoyed shopping for (and wearing) designer clothing from local stores. This outfit may have been purchased from John Doyle Bishop who sold Trigère’s clothing in Seattle and had a friendship with the designer.
