Long green Oscar de la Renta dress, ca. 1970
This Oscar de la Renta dress was from his "boutique" line which was sold locally at Frederick & Nelson and The Bon Marché. The dress combines de la Renta's ladylike aesthetic with the psychedelic 1960s. It is from the estate of sisters Genevieve (1912 - 2008) and Donna Gorder (1921-2018). Genevieve was a teacher and Donna worked as a research technician in medical labs at both the Veteran’s Hospital on Beacon Hill and the University of Washington. They shared a home in Madison Park and enjoyed shopping for (and wearing) designer clothing from local stores.
