Beer bottle, Troll Porter, Hale's Ales, 2011
Order an ImageMike Hale founded Hale's Ales Brewery in Seattle in 1983. The brewing process followed the traditional English style using an English yeast strain, but some Belgian strains were used as well. Hale's Ale also experimented with bourbon barrel-aging, producing the Troll Porter and Wee Heavy Winter Ale. The troll featured on the bottle is the large iconic sculpture located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. The brewery closed in 2022.
