Dunn was a prominent politician who served Washington’s 8th district as a Republican in the US House of Representatives from 1993-2005. She was the chair of the Washington State Republican Party from 1981 to 1992 and twice a delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (1984 and 1990). In 1998, she became the first woman ever to run for the position of House Majority Leader. This dress is festive yet powerful, with a confident color and bold shoulder pads. She wore it sometime between 1992 and 2004.
