Order an ImageThe Seattle SuperSonics were a National Basketball Association (NBA) team based in Seattle, Washington, that played from 1967 until 2008. The Sonics, as they are more commonly referred to, won the NBA Championship in 1979, and MOHAI is the steward of the championship trophy. Gary Payton played for the Sonics for 13 years and Rashard Lewis was with the team for 9 years. After the 2007-2008 season ended, the team relocated to Oklahoma City, and now plays as the Oklahoma City Thunder.
