Tribal Canoe Journey copper ring necklace, 2011
Philip Red Eagle (Dakota and Puget Sound Salish) made this copper ring necklace for MOHAI in 2011. He makes one of these necklaces for each paddler who completes the Full Circle Canoe Journey. A 21st century symbol of renewed cultural traditions, the copper ring stands for tribal unity, and each bead represents a story about that year’s journey.
