This t-shirt was donated by a 15+ year employee of the Seattle Times who participated in the 49-day newspaper strike from November 2000 to January 2001. The strike was voted on by Pacific Northwest Guild members. The Seattle Union Record, featured on the shirt, was originally a local labor newspaper that ran for thirty years from 1899 to 1928. It was known as "the only paper in Seattle thoroughly covering the doings of Organized Labor." The Seattle Union Record was revived during the strike and was edited and published by the strikers.
