Margaret Latimer Callahan was a member of a prominent Seattle family whose grandfather was associated with the city's founding families and King County's first Treasurer, and whose father was the President of Dexter Horton Bank. Margaret served in the US Army Air Forces IV Fighter Command as an Air Spotter during World War II and was a certified American National Red Cross Volunteer. She also helped with local civil defense activities and was a member of the Seattle Municipal Defense Commission.
