The Miss Wahoo is a famous unlimited hydroplane originally owned by Bill Boeing, Jr. She is 30 feet long, weighs 6,800 pounds, and utilizes a piston-powered inline aircraft engine to reach speeds up to 200 MPH. Boeing's personal pilot, future Unlimited Hydroplane Hall of Famer Mira "The Flying Czech" Slovak (1929-2014), was the first to drive the boat at the 1956 Seafair races. The Miss Wahoo raced until 1966 and can be seen today at the Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum in Kent, Washington. Dr. Randolph Preston Pillow (1922-2015), a physician, Seafair supporter, and racing student of Mira Slovak, was known as the "ship's doctor" and donated to MOHAI this T-shirt that he wore to the races in 1957.
