Order an ImageThis 1960s evening gown was purchased from John Doyle Bishop— a fashionable Seattle store run by a charismatic owner of the same name. Bishop (1913-1980) was known as "Seattle's most colorful Irishman" and loved the color green. Bishop sold fashions from high-end American and European designers. This gown was designed in New York by Elinor Simmons for the company Michael Starr. The owner of this dress, Geraldine Mullally, also had a good eye for color. She did color consulting and interior design for her husband’s home building company in Seattle.
