Twilight Tea package from Bemis Company, ca. 1930
The Bemis Brothers Bag Company was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1858. By the early 20th century, the company had shortened its name to Bemis Company and was operating eight bag factories in various parts of the United States, including Seattle, making burlap and cotton bags for grain, flour, feed and many other products. This package of Twilight Tea was imported from India by the Bemis Company and was distributed from their New Orleans plant.
