Evening dress from the House of Balmain, made for Theiline Pigott McCone, 1963

This evening dress was custom made for Seattle philanthropist Theiline Pigott McCone (1903-1990) by the House of Balmain in Paris. She was born Theiline McGee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in California. In 1924 she married Paul Pigott who was the president of the Pacific Car and Foundry Co (later PACCAR). He died in 1961 and it 1962 she married John Alexander McCone, director of the CIA.
