Newsboy's apron for the Seattle Star newspaper, ca. 1930s
The Seattle Star newspaper was established in 1899 by E. W. Scripps and was known for being a “working man’s” paper. It was sold to Howard Parrish and other local Seattle businessmen in 1942 and eventually ceased publication in 1947. At the time it had the smallest circulation of the three daily newspapers, the others being the Seattle Times and Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
