Order an ImageThe steamship Virginia V was once part of the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet of small passenger and freight carrying ships that traveled the islands and ports of this region from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The steamship is still operational today and is docked just outside MOHAI on Lake Union. Artist David Cabitto (1938-2011) was a senior illustrator for the Library of Congress for thirty years from the 1970s-1990s. Prior to that, he worked in the Maritime Division of the Department of Commerce located on Vashon Island in Seattle.
