Microphone and sound system, ca. 1939

This microphone and sound system was used at the Women's City Club of Seattle which was founded in 1922 by the city's first woman mayor Bertha Knight Landes. The Women's City Club, originally named the Women's Civic League, was organized to help educate women on local, national and world politics, and strive to improve the municipal conditions of Seattle.
