Model of Skyride, Seattle World's Fair, 1962
The Skyride, sponsored by Union Oil Company, was a Midway gondola ride that carried people 60 feet or more above ground from the Gayway to the International Mall on the fairgrounds, a distance of about 1400 feet. Each gondola held up to three passengers. The maker of this model added a comical touch with Peanuts characters. After the fair, the 40-car ride went to the Puyallup fairgrounds around 1980 where it is still enjoyed by fairgoers today.
