Camphor bottle owned by Sarah (Sally) Latimer Boren, 1822
This camphor bottle was given to Sarah (Sally) Latimer Boren (1805-1888) by her father-in-law Francis Boren (1762-1834) when Sarah had her first child, Mary Ann Boren (1822-1910). This information is typed on the note that is inside the bottle. Mary Ann later married Arthur Armstrong Denny (1822-1899) and traveled with the Denny family west in the 1850s to settle in what is now Seattle. She brought this camphor bottle with her and it is mentioned in the book, "Four Wagons West," by Denny family descendent, Roberta Frye Watt.
