Order an Image
The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) was a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909. It was a major national event for the young but fast growing city, and celebrated the emerging development of the Pacific Northwest. This souvenir silk handkerchief shows a “birds eye view” of the fairgrounds, which would later become the campus of the University of Washington. Surrounding this image are four American flags and flags of nations that were represented at the Exposition in some way.
