Ice cream scoop from Capitol Hill Drug store, ca. 1920-1950
Located on 15th Avenue, Capitol Hill Drug was open sometime in the 1910s and closed in the early 1980s. This item was donated to MOHAI by Alan K. Lomax, who owned the store in the 1960s. It is likely he was cleaning out historic and outdated items from the long-running business. The store also sold ice cream and had a soda fountain.
