When the Klondike Gold Rush hit Seattle starting in 1897, thousands came through the city on their way to Alaska. Merchants across the city clamored to “mine the miners” by selling supplies needed to brave the cold. While local saloons and gaming rooms offered inviting places to spend their money on the way to and from Alaska. These playing cards feature images of the Yukon and White Pass to promote the gold rush and travel to Alaska.
