The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) was held in Seattle in 1909 on what are now the grounds of the University of Washington. It was a major national event for the young but fast growing city. The aerial photographer, Richard T. Jones, marketed his photography through Frank Nowell, a well-known local photographer.
