Navy blue knit suit, attributed to Chanel, ca. 1935
Order an ImageThis suit belonged to Guendolen Carkeek Plestcheeff (1892-1994), daughter of early Seattle setters, Morgan and Emily Carkeek. Guendolen was sent to Europe for schooling at age 13 and travelled frequently between Seattle and Europe as an adult. Known as one of the most stylish women in Seattle, Guendolen was a customer at many of the most well-known couture houses in Paris. This suit has no label but was attributed to the House of Chanel when Guendolen donated it to the collection.
