Sign from Yesler Way Cable Car Line, ca. 1910

The Seattle City Railway, originally named the Lake Washington Cable Railway, was in operation from 1888 until 1940. Known as the Yesler Way Cable Car line, it started from Yesler Way and Fruit Street at Pioneer Place and ran east via Yesler to Lake Washington.
