SUMMARY:Workshopping Democracy: The Art of Protest
DESCRIPTION:Learn about our region’s rich history of protest art\, while producing your own artistic call-to-action in this digital hands-on workshop. Generous support provided by 4Culture and RealNetworks Foundation. \nArtist Shemona Morena will share information about 350 Seattle‘s artful activism and guide workshop participants through their own art project. \nWorkshop Materials: During the workshop\, we will use the following items\, many of which you may already have at home. \n\nEither a thin piece of cardboard\, thin piece of plastic\, or poster board\nX-ACTO knife or box cutter\, sharp enough to cut through material\nPen or pencil\nBlue tape/painter’s tape (preferred) or masking tape\nSomething to cut on\, such as a cutting board or mat\, a thick piece of cardboard\, or an already scratched up surface\n\nWorkshopping Democracy: Dig deeper into the tools of democracy in these two-hour workshops. Learn from local leaders about how you can make an impact and the strategies that lead to successful civic change.
