Promised Land is an award-winning social justice documentary that follows two tribes in the Pacific Northwest: the Duwamish and the Chinook\, as they fight for the restoration of treaty rights they’ve long been denied. In following their story\, the film examines a larger problem in the way that the government and society still looks at tribal sovereignty. SUMMARY:History of Rowing in Seattle: The Return of the Husky Challenger
DESCRIPTION:In honor of the upcoming exhibit\, Pulling Together: A Brief History of Rowing in Seattle\, the University of Washington Men’s Rowing team will row the iconic shell from the historic Conibear Shellhouse to MOHAI\, where it will then be displayed in the Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium. \nIn its return to Lake Union\, the UW crew—all Washington State locals\, outfitted in uniforms reflecting the attire of the 1936 crew—will leave the University of Washington at 11:15 am and arrive at Lake Union Park at approximately 11:45 am.
